2 stars This is the debut album from PESTILENCE and not an impressive one. But back then, it was considered a very good album. Time has moved on....

This album bridges the gap between thrash/speed metal and death metal. It even has some traces of hardcore and punk. Actually; pretty large dosages of punk and hardcore. It is also pretty melodic. The music is not anywhere near as brutal and heavy as the brand of metal we today refer to as death metal. The music is pretty much in the direction of the first two DEATH albums. But perhaps not as brutal as DEATH's Leprosy album. The quality is pretty good if thrash/speed metal is your cup of tea.

This album is nowhere in the same territory, or even planet, as their Testimony Of The Ancient or Spheres. So forget this album if you are into that kind of music. There is nothing refined or progressive about this album. Just straigth forward and naive speed/thrash metal. It is nice to headbang too, but nothing else.

2 stars and being kind.
