5 stars When most people think of Kansas, they think of their FM hits like "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust In The Wind". Well, I believe that they were ten times the band before they began to change their style. This album contains the symphonic roots of Kerry Livgren combined with the rock of Steve Walsh. "Can I Tell You" is an excellent rock song wit han integrated progressive sound. "Bringing it Back" is a unique song with bongos and other instruments that make for an awesome song. The third song is where it really starts to get good. "Lonely Wind" is by far Steve Walsh's masterpiece in my opinion. This song has a nice and slow rythmatic sequence and has awesome lyrics. "Belexes" is a hard rocking progressive rock song that almost sounds like the river dance meets progressive rock. This is one of my personal favorite s of the album. "Journey From Mariabronn" is my absolute favorite song off of the album. This song combines great progressive rock with intense guitaring, brutal drumming, and big bass. This song alone makes the album worth your money. "The Pilgrimage" is another song that has a strange beat to it but yet it so catchy and amazing sounding that your hooked right away. "Apercu" is a great progressive rock song from start to finish. If only Kerry Livgren would have stuck with the moog instead of going to playng the guitar most of the time. "Death Of Mother Nature Suite" has many rhythm changes in the music and many mood swings in the lyrics. Its another unbelieveable song from the mind of Kerry Livgren. If you are a progressive rock fan and do not have this album, I recommend you go to the store right away to purchase this album. I promise you will love it.
