COFFEE HOUNDS

Here's a good but brief EP from the brilliant Church. THE COFFEE SONG is a spacey and wistful Pink Floyd- esque number. It's not too terribly striking on first listen, but it grows on you after a while.

HOUNDS OF LOVE is a cover of Kate Bush's wonderful tune. The Church had apparently played this a number of times at live shows, and it's a faithful adaptation, but feels like it could use a little extra something.

Finishing things out is an instrumental version of THE COFFEE SONG. Aside from having the vocal track removed it's about a minute and a half longer and feels even spacier than the first version.

Overall this is a great addition to any hardcore Church fan's collection (the sleeve that the disc comes in is rather nice), but it's not a total necessity.
