4 stars This album is pretty good, but does take a little getting used to. The vocals are a lot different than any other Metallica album, being that there are a lot of high-pitched screams. The solos are amazing, also considering Kirk Hammet only had a couple weeks to practice before recording. Cliff's playing in (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth is godlike. I only give this 3/5 because it isn't really very proggy.

Key tracks are: Hit the Lights - Good song, good solos. The Four Horsemen - Best song on the album. (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth - My personal favorite, and as I already said, godlike bass playing. Whiplash/Phantom Lord/No Remorse/Seek and Destroy - These are are pretty good, but all pretty similar.
