4 stars Launched in 2006, UNIMOTHER 27 is the solo-project, mostly one-man-band by a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Pescara, Piero Ranalli who is also known as a bassist for the bands INSIDER and AREKNAMÃ?S.

"AcidoXodicA" is the sixth album of UNIMOTHER 27. It was recorded and produced in May-August 2017 in Ranalli's own Pineal Gland Lab studio. This is the second album in the project's discography where Ranalli is assisted by mysterious Mr. Fist who plays minimalist acoustic percussions in a "krauty" style and lays the groundwork for Ranalli's heavy-acid-guitar soloing and synth-space manipulations.

The album presents rather heavy, dark, futuristic, and all instrumental music that blends together Acid-Psyche, Experimental-Kraut, and even Desert-Stoner trends. The center point of all seven compositions is overloaded and fuzzy acid-guitar solo-improvisation which is always quite impressive. The synthesized ambient-drone textures throughout the album are rather ascetic and minimalist. There are no diving into long abstract electronic trans-space- meditations and no voice manipulations on this album. The overall sound is well produced, dense and loud.

"AcidoXodicA" is arguably the most effective and focused recording of UNIMOTHER 27 to date. If you like Heavy-Psyche music in general, or just wonder how "electro-acoustic" version of Heavy-Psyche can sound - check it out.
