AN OTHER LIFE

This disc would have garnered another star if the lyrics weren't so blatantly "christian." Lyrically, it's too preachy and there is something about the singers delivery which doesn't work, FOR ME. Too bad. Musically, they are very solid. Drummer Doug Meadows has a heavy Bruford-like style, lots of snappy snare work. Keys and guitar challenge each other nicely. The bass player really holds down the bottom. If these guys would learn to tone down the preaching, be spiritual without sounding like an everyday christian rock band, they'd have chance of vying for "best New Prog" honors.

Maybe they could tour with Neal?
