Even if the creation of a superband like Asia might be questionable (was it for musical purpose or just a
matter of money-making?), the result is an excellent debut album.Of course Asia is not a true prog album and purist may find even its presence on progarchives.com a bit mistaken. This album should be taken for what it is : AOR ... but it rocks for sure ! Great musicianship, great songs, no weak parts... just a bit too popy. Easy to listen when you just want to have some fun without activating your brain too much. A few hightlights : the entry songs Heat Of The Moment, Only Time Will Tell, Sole Survivor and later song Wildest Dreams. If you are a prog-fanatic, this album only worth 3 or 4 stars. But if you are also open to rock albums that are closer to pop-rock, this is an essential. (Maybe the only essential of the group, given the weaker follow-up albums).
