A L'OLYMPIA

This review is based on the LP version of this album (the CD version if you can find it, apparently has additional songs). The first seven tracks formed side one, and are accoustic: Alan playing the harp and singing, with some additional accompaniment, all of of haunting and beautiful.

From track eight, Pop-Plinn, it turns into full-on energetic folk-rock, with Dan Ar Bras' guitar coming to the fore. Particular highlights are 'Pop-Plinn', 'King of the Faeries', the magnificent Breton fishing song 'Tri Martolod', and 'Suite Sudarmoricane'.

Fans of Songs from the Wood and Heavy Horses era Jethro Tull, Horslips or Fairport Convention should enjoy this album.
