4 stars If only we were still in the '70's or 80's... THIS would be THE most important album of all time in Progressive Metal...

BUT... As I write this, it is 2017... And the seventies and eighties (and even the early nineties) have long gone by... I LOVE this album. But for most of my collaborators at progarchives, this is a 3.5 (at best) album...

However... For me, I walked away from my computer remembering the vocal melodies and guitar bits (go figure), of this album, and knew I had to return. Again and again.

The guitar work of Ron Thal, the drumming of Mike Portnoy, and the vocals of Jeff Scott Soto, and then, add to this the massively underrated playing of Billy Sheehan (he's both in the pocket and all over the place) and you have certainly something that is worthy of your attention... This project has truly captivated me and has brought me back to reminiscing over the old Rainbow and more recently, Symphony X days... If I can suspend my temporal sensibilities... This becomes an AWESOME album. But the realities of the times let me know that I am probably in the minority...

This might not be to everyone's taste... Cylli gives it 4.72 Stars...

Grace and peace, Cylli
