5 stars This album is really worth 4,5 stars, its therefore very difficult to cut. However, its perhaps the best album of the group or are united almost any best titles.I attribute 5 stars therefore in this album.

Break on through (To the other side):First piece of the 1st album of Doors,he's very representative of what is the group in general, ambience, the atmoshphčre comes from Ray,charisma and presence of Jim and the rather basic texts which encourage here to pass acrossas the said so definitely as the said if definitely announce. Ray's solo is sumptuous (besides as all passages or the organ is put forward),without Ray The Doors would never have been what they are...(4,5/5)

Soul kitchen:Nice piece, rather orientated jazz of part the battery of Densmore, the style changing Ray and the languorous and wandering guitar of Krieger. It accept a piece of the same beating as others of this album:Back door man,Alabama song,End of the night. They are alike so much musical point of view and the composition that I always find it difficult to remember respective titles!(4/5)

Crystal ship:Crystal ship is a poem,a piece very gently, instrumental accompaniment is very light to put forward soft and reassuring voice (for time) of Jim.(4,5/5)

Twentieth century fox:Bluesy/rock' n roll piece.Small anecdote, the solo of guitar of Krieger is the same that that of You make me real of the album Morrison hotel,it is simply played a tone underneath in this last.

Alabama song (Whisky bar):This piece is a resumption,it was sung for the first time by Kurt Weill in 1927,Jim simply changed passage Show us the way to the next pretty boy in Show me the way to the next little girl. Its a piece which puts forward well Jim's tendencies for excesses, here with alcohol. This song is for me a kind of hymn for alcoolics, music is cheerful of the type of the one that they could find in an American bar late at night.(4/5)

Light my fire:Having written by Krieger, its irrefutably the piece most known by The Doors, also the best, for many.It has copied by numerous artists and even in film industry (Cast away) for instance. For me its a reference of psychedelic rock, indeed what was made of better in this type.Known no more and no less for both very long instrumental parties, the one played has the organ and other one has the guitar, which are simply incredible. The solo in Ray's organ is a pure marvel in every way.Transcendent,deep,meloman,pirouetting.Veils to sum up in some words. The solo of Krieger which comes just after is also very good, once again with rather exotic tones, which make travel. Its however difficult to me to represent at best it pieces, its better to listen to it ;-) (5/5)

Back door man:Another resumption, this piece is has the foundation of Willie Dixon written as Howlin'Wolf in 1960.Robert Plant will pay tribute to Willie Dixon in 1969 on Whole lotta love or it will say,(after have simulated an orgasm)Shake for me girl,i wanna be your back door man .

Its a very provocative piece, opposite to public decency, title alone sense is enough to understand it.Any beginning of the song begins with small shouting of Jim followed by Yeah,C'mon baby,C'mon... which illustrate very well the provocative and horrifying character of the piece.(4/5)

I looked at you:Similar has Twentieth century fox,its also a rock'n roll piece...(3,5/5)

End of the night:Psychedelic and soporific piece and all at once rather mysterious,Ray's organ gives a rather enchanting side while the guitar of Krieger produces Indian tones, which get closer a little of flamenco.(3,5/5)

Take it as it comes:Another piece or the organ is broadly put forward which gives an ancestral side to the piece, not poor...(3,5/5)

The End:What of better to end the album that a title as her that ;-)Its Indeed the most controversial piece of the group, that their bringing a lot of worries, notably to be returned from some Whisky A Go-Go,a bar/nightplace or the group appreciated cross its parties. They were returned after that Jim pronounces this sentence worship Father,I want to kill you/ Mother,I want to fuck youin reference has the Oedipus periode of the youngs boys...Jim always had this babyish side;in her expression of the face notably and also during the funny faces which it carried out during concerts.Try not to find any sense in words, trouble lost beforehand, these while being what Jim brought back of a LSD trip which had taken place in the desert and that had marked it.The End is very disordered, its besides for her that one will find it in the band sound of the famous film Apocalypse now who will go out in 1979.In the first words, they smell Jim very solemnel, they understand easily that he announces the end of the world.Over the beginning of the piece they have impression to be in a religious building, the sound of Ray's organ recalling the one that they find in churches.Densmore really plays as though it was its ultimate piece by being in the serious at all times.I find the beginning of the piece rather successful, but at the end of certain time it becomes tiresome, its one of the songs of the group that I appreciate least.Indeed for his dark, apocalyptic character, which reflects a picture of the group which I do not like particularly.(3/5)
