4 stars The Flower Kings – Space Revolver I bought this album ‘accidentally’ in year 2006.. At that moment, I didn’t search for TFK actually, I’m looking for a Pain of Salvation album. When I got into the store, they were out of PoS. I didn’t want to come back home empty handed, so I searched around and I found this album. after thinking so hard(because it’s quite expensive for a student :)) , I finally decided to buy this record without even have heard a single song from them.. At first listenings, I have feelings that this would be a difficult album to digest, and it’s true. After 2 weeks listening to this album, I couldn’t stand it. The complexity of their music makes me difficult to digest the record. So I put it away, I was unable to accept their music, although I like some parts of their song..

It was around January 2007 and It has been almost a year since I bought Space Revolver, I hadn’t bought a new cd at the time so I started to listen to this cd (again). And, finally.. yeah, Finally!! I’m able to digest this album.. What can I say about TFK? They are Hell good musicians! Their music is very complex. It also has some jazzy influence. Sometimes I feel “medieval age” nuance in their music (this is why I like them.) Some songs are great, while some are bad and out of place, like Dream on Dreamer, Chicken Farmer Song, Underdog. These songs are just not fit with the album, they’re useless. CFS for example, it’s just a stupid useless song.. Despite the lackness of musicianship in these songs, I still like some parts on these songs . Yep, this is a very difficult album to digest for me, it took me almost a year to be able to enjoy this record. But this is a GOOD album, and I’m giving 4 stars!! Excellent.. (Almost forgot, they are good in making instrumentals parts/tracks..)

My favourite songs: I am the Sun (pt.1 & 2), Rumble Fish Twist, Monster Within, A Kings Prayer. My Favourite parts in the album : Rumble Fish Twist (3:50-8:04), Monster Within (3:34-5:30), Chicken Farmer Song (2:47-4:17), Underdog (4:45-5:24)--> this part really rocks!!!
