SCRIPT FOR A JESTER'S TEAR

When I first heard this album, I thought I liked it, but years later, when I listen to it, it sounds flat, dull, boring, with a wealth of overdramatic pretense. It sounds like late-Gabriel or slightly post-Gabriel Genesis, but it is not nearly as good, nor is it as good as later neo-prog albums or other works by Marillion, such as Clutching At Straws, which is an amazing album. I think this album receives hype because it is considered the first neo-prog album, when in actuality, it's not even a good representation of the genre.
