4 stars OK, I will not go into describing each song or something like that, I just want to put on words what I experiment every time I hear this album: its just AMAZING!!! A little bit of background: I know very little about Colosseum, have not heard much, but I'm not too much into brass in my prog rock. . . I got a hold of Spyglass Guest on a cassette recorded from the vinyl and it still sounds GREAT!!! I just had the reference that the group was named after its founder and keyboardist Dave Greenslade and what amused me at the time (late 80s maybe early 90s) was that Andy McCollouch was on the drums (HUGE KC FAN here) in this album. . . I heard it and really got blown away, this is the only Greenslade album that I have, wish I could hear the others (before and after).

This album just past too quickly. . . love the keyboards, the mellotrons and the Rhodes electric piano. . . wasn't Dave Lawson later with Uriah Heep? If thats the case, I appreciate more his work here than with the more heavy approch to rock from the Heep.

This album is very fresh, balanced, its really enjoying to hear it!!! Lot of comic references: the Western, little red Fry-up, red light. . . again, I wish it was a longer album. . .

That's why I give it a 4.5 rating. . . can't say its the ultimate prog album, but ooohhhh how I need to hear it now and then to freshen up and lift my spirit.

Hail the GREENSLADE.

Peace. . . Up with the PROGS!!!
