4 stars Here we have Subterranea, a very long work with some very good songs, and some not so good songs. For those of you interested in the Neo-Prog scene as it plays out in the 90's, with its super-charged emotional power, grand themes, and symphonic crescendos, this album is for you. However, if you like your Genesis to be tight and absent of filler (meaning, you prefer Selling England to The Lamb) then try Ever first and move on to this. This album starts strong, but it fizzles out after a while. It seems they were more obsessed with the idea of creating a double length feature than sticking only with the most inspired song output.
