4 stars Lightbulb Sun is very similar to its brother Stupid Dream: 1. both contain no weak song or filler, 2. both are rather mellow and untainted by metal, 3. there are some outstanding tracks on both while the rest is decent. Special mention should be made of the ever recurring acoustic pieces (sometimes with string quartet). Reference to their trance past is made with the second part of Last Chance To Evacuate.. and Russia on Ice, while Hatesong gives us a glimpse of the things to come, being the most rocky composition of the album. The other songs are mostly rather unexcited but augmented with beautiful vocal melodies. An album for the quieter moments in life, when you have time and leisure to really listen to it. 4 stars.
