OCTOPUS

For most people, this album characterizes the Gentle Giant sound. I would agree that perhaps it represents some type of cumulative average of the band, but I still prefer Three Friends and In A Glass House. Octopus is almost pushing the hard-prog label at some points, and at other times it is very mellow. For the most part, listening to this album is like tying an Octopus into Knots. 5 brilliant stars!
