ATOM HEART MOTHER

The wierdest Pink Floyd album I know (though I've heard that Umagumma is even wierder). The two suites Atom Heart Mother and Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast almost make this album essential. The three individual songs by Waters, Wright and Gilmour are nice but they don't add much else to the album. The 23-minute title track featuring orchestra and choir is the highlight. Very memorable moments can be found here, plus it's entirely instrumental. The closing track is another lengthy instrumental by the band, including some monologues and wierd sounds by Alan while he makes his breakfast. Essential for PF fans but an excellent addition overall.
