5 stars If perfect is an album that stays most true to its concept and theme, then Songs From The Wood is the "most perfect" album I've ever listened to. It starts with one of my favourite tracks of all time (the album title track) and continues with a bombardment of amazing folk rock songs, with each one being better than the other. There are maybe one or two songs I don't like as much but they all serve the concept perfectly. It's astonishing how Jethro Tull managed to capture the feeling (not only the sound) of medieval Britain, at least the sunny side. To this day, after I have listened to it many, many times, I still come back to one of my top 5 albums if I'm feeling down (and want to feel much better) or if I just want to listen to some of the most beautiful music out there. And Thick as a Brick may be the ultimate prog masterpiece, but Songs From The Wood is the ultimate Tull album.
