5 stars Underrated.

Lyrically it's not their best effort, but, musically, it brings the missing piece that they left in Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. The Astonishing is a great attempt to try something new, to evolve. They are not trying to repeat themselves or show their great skills.

The concept behind the album is cheesy but the music is great. You'll find great melodies and ideas, cohesive all around performance by the guys and a strong and performatic LaBrie singing effort.

If you release this album with a better concept, right after Six Deegres of Inner Turbulence, you would have a great album for the catalogue.
