RED

I remember reading a review about Red when it came out saying that it was a shame that when Robert Fripp finally got the right progressive balance in his music, he chucked the whole thing soon after. It was a shame that after this classic progressive album, he disbanded the original version of King Crimson, thus they were not able to build on this direction. The first side (Red, Angel & Nightmare) is the perfect match of progressive music to go with minimal, but effective John Wetton vocals. While Providence drags a bit, Starless is another excellent mix of music and vocals. Even though, In The Court of the Crimson King deservedly gets the most recognition, Red is a very worthy number two.
