3 stars This is hardly a work by Popol Vuh, but as a fan of FITZCARRALDO, I think it's worth owning. There're actually only 4 tracks from Popol Vuh (I think they're all from other albums), and the rest are works from various composers and songs sung by Caruso. There's certainly a unique mood that's created by all of this. It's epic, mysterious, and appropriately operatic.

I would consider this more like 3.5 stars, since I love the movie (it's among Herzog's finest films), and I like many of the pieces of music, but unless you're a fan like me or want to own anything associated with Popol Vuh, it may seem more like a curiosity, but there's a good deal of fine music here.
