REMINISCENCE

I first listened this album when I saw it's album cover and felt curious about it. I listened to it and I really enjoyed it. Although I enjoy progressive rock/symphonic prog better, I like progressive metal with the condition that the record need to have power but also melody. And This album, 'Reminiscence' by Far from Reality has both.

1) Falter - Begins with a crescendo and the a nice riff that goes throughout the track. In the YT video there are comments about the not so good vocals but I don't feel the same, I enjoy it. It's one of my fav. tracks on the album. 4,9/5

2) Waiting - This second track is a great follow to the previous track. Opens with a riff as well and then goes slower, you can hear keyboards which is very great. A lot of metal bands don't even know what it is.. At this point was determined to listen the whole thing even if I didn't like the following tracks. Ah by the way, really liked the solo and how it fades into the next song. 4,9/5

3) Reminiscence

Part I (Lost) - So far the hardest entry, I really enjoy this song. It's my fav on the album due to the power and the amazing keyboards! The voice enters and it's just so well with the instrumental.. A very well worked track indeed. Then there's a moment around 19:39 - 20:00, it's just perfect, at least for me. I really like it especially as a second listen. And it's because it antecipates an even perfecter (? ;) moment! (20:00 - 20:15 more or less). Then the riff appears again and the solo and the chorus (that part I believe) jumps in again.. Just perfect! Ah let's not forget about the piano solo at the end.. It's just a amazing melody, sad and that connects with the last song as well as the Part II. For the part I - 6/5 xb

Part II (Regrets) - It's a ballad, a perfect follower for the final of 'Lost'. And if you don't like the vocals.. listen to this one, is short, its sadness catches you, at least me! 4,9/5

Part III (Home) - Opens as the last one ended.. and then is rises, slowly as the solo begins.. pure bliss for my ears! 4,7/5

6) Abyss - I like this track, but it's not as good as the first half-hour of the album.. not much to say actually.. just doesn't do the same for me. However, the ending is quite amazing.. the last 4 mins or so.. that solo.. 4,5/5

7) Agony - Agony opens with a scary riff, amazing xb i like how heavy it gets in the middle of the song and then calms.. when that guitar enters (around 47:42).. my fav moment in the music ;) until the end is just awesomeness. 4,6/5

8) - Summer Sunrise Melancholy - Abyss and Agony, however very good, are the lower points in the album.. This last track, is one of the best.. no doubts. The piano dominates the entire track bringing a very beautiful feeling of sadness.. It's a 5/5

I think this album is really a winner.. a very good debut, very mature and very nice to listen to. 5 stars from me ;)
