Not an essential recorning by any means, but you cannot just dismiss it as mere pop. Side one is not very good, true, except perhaps The Gambler that has echoes of the old ELP, but sode two is superb - the 20 minute suite is as good as ELP ever written (if one can overlook the cheesy romantic lyrics), and Canario is classic ELP. A must for 'real' ELP fan. Just skip side one and enjoy side two - it's pretty delectable.
