5 stars Definetively one of my symphonic prog favourite albums.

This was the first and last album of Neuschwanstein. With undeniable similarities with Genesis music of the early 70's the truth is that Neuschwanstein music can fly with their own wings! Mixing heavy prog parts with emphasys on keybaords and guitars with spacy sections leaded by flute and synthesizers, all the tracks are really gems, most of them mini epics with constant changes, crescendos and beautiful closing sections. From the folky and happy "Loafer Jack" to the powerful instrumental "Zärtlicher Abschied" the album sounds consistent and solid, with wonderful instrumental sections, good lyrics and the impressive "gabrielistic" vocals of Frederic Joos.

Even when all the tracks are really great, my favourites are the beautiful, sad and floating "Battlement" and the powerful and symphonic "Intruders and the Punishment" and "Beyond the Bugle", two excellent prog pieces full of complexity, little details and excellent instrumental and vocal sections.

Really, a masterpiece necessary in any prog collection...
