4 stars Really well structed metal songs and epic atmosphere make Gojira a pretty unique band (all though Isis comes to mind).

Big sounding riffs that repeat each other give the songs, most about global warming and the wellfare of planet earth, a great sense of urgency that needs to be listened to. Fantastic production value gives the low, crunching chords an extra bass boost that is needed in a metal-driven sound.

Some other metal bands have a ridiculous and over-the-top sound with lyrics that would scare most small children, but Gojira has something to say (whether i believe what they're saying or not) and that gives the well structured songs a more emotional depth to them. One of the better metal albums i have in my collection.
