![]() Debra kadabra The playing is tight and rocking, but I realy loathe Beefheart´s vocals in some places. In fact, he just roars most of the time. The melody is not that great, either. 1.5 stars Carolina hardcore extasy Very melodic and also restrained and relaxed when compared with the previous track. Mostly based on the vocals of several players that evening. Zappa plays a fine guitar solo as well, pretty melodic, while Tom Fowler plays some great bass as well. 5 stars Sam with the showing scalp flat top Just Beefheart talking nad talking and the band playing the main melody off Louie Louie at one point. 0 stars Poofter´s froth Wyoming plans ahead A countryesque influenced track with good vocals and harmonica playing.from Beefheart and slide playing from Denny Walley. Still, the melody is pretty formulaic. 2.5 stars 200 years old A blues rocker. Beefheart plays harmonica and sings in the refrain with Zappa. Powerful drumwork from Terry Bozzio and nice soloing by Zappa. 4 stars Cucamonga Another blues based track, but this one doesn´t evenm have a melody, any exceptional instrumentation (although the band plays pretty good as a whole) and the vocals are sub par at best. 0 stars Advance romance A relaxed bluesy number. Great playing by the band. Fabulous guitar playing, both from slide guitarist Denny Walley and also Frank. The atmosphere is great. The rhytm section is awesome, and Beefheart plays terrific harmonica again. 5 stars Man with the woman head No music here, just Beefheart mumbling. 0 points Muffin man Starts off with a harmless piano, before it turns into a great and melodic rocker with a great guitar solo by Zappa. Zappa´s singing on this one is fine as well. Even Beefheart gets to sing one chorus. 5 stars Overall rating: 2 STARS COLLECTORS/FANS ONLY
