5 stars MELLOTRON MANIACS!

For all those who love tron loaded music, like i do, this is paradise. This is maybe my Anekdoten favourite, and i say maybe because also Vemod and ATOD are very close to that place.

Anyhow, this was my introduction to this magnificent swedish act, that hooked me instantly and iīve been a fan ever since and all the time looking forward to hear more of the band, so i was very pleased with thier release A Time Of Day this year(07).

The way the started the album with the self title track blew my mind indeed, and i thought: What a great song! but then "Kiss of Life" began with that mellotron intro and a powerful bass line that amazed me, so i was already in love. Arferwards came "Groundbound" a slow warm piece that cooled a bit my euphoria down but without losing the emotion i was feeling. I remember i stopped the cd player after the song finished to see if it was damaged, but i realised later that itīs just the way the track ends. "Hole" made me travel all around the space, the earth, the sea and then back. "Slow Fire" and "Firefly" just made me confirm that i was in front of one of the best bands that i had heard lately. When i listened to "The Sun Absolute" i was euphoric again... what a way to hit the bass strings!... and those consistent but delicate keys leading all the way! If it wasnīt for "For Someone" which chilled me out again, maybe i wouldīve gone swimming for a couple of hours to relax a bit. Nice way to end an excellent journey.

My favourite tracks remain "From Within", "Kiss Of Lfe", "Hole" and "Sun Absolute" , but definitively no weak song on the album. If you are not familiar with the band, i would recomend to start with Vemod or this one, then the rest.

I can say many other things about this record or the band, but probably you would feel that iīm overreacting, so i think itīs better if you read the rest of the smartly written reviews by other members.

All in all, i really think this is a masterpiece of Prog and a must for all Anekdoten and Art Rock fans.

Viva el Prog!
