MARATHONNERRE I & II

This record is a compilation of a 12 hour performance by Serge Noyelle. Accordin to the photos and yhe music on this double CD, it should have been an incredible show. Can you imagine half a day listening to this outstanding music? This a very interesting blend of chamber mmusic and electronics, in a very original developement that creates aunique atmosphere, very dark and futuristic sometimes.

Itá very difficult yo remark a song or another, because the record is rather a collection of "sketches" than a collection of songs. Although it can be a bit difficult for some listeners, on the whole it´s quite enjoyable, maybe not so radical that other recordings by the band, but a bit more "accessible", provided that this is a quite peculiar and complex band.

As a detail, there is a Magma/Jannick Top musical mention. Maybe a souvenir for their masters?

I give this record 4 stars. It´s original, complex but not difficult to listen, and has a great mix of classical, electronics and avantgarde that make this band so unique. Not only for progheads, those interested in electronics and ambient music shoukd also pay attention on this record
