4 stars Fans of Eno's ambient and otherwise instrumental material are likely to have Music for Films and Music for Films III in their collection and are probably wondering what the hell happened to Music for Films Volume 2? It came out on LP as part of a box set called Working Backwards, that I never saw for sale in any record store, and has never seen release on CD.

Some of those tracks were used on Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks. More Music for Films appears to have all of the tracks offered on MfFV2 that didn't show up elsewhere. There are musical ideas Eno has explored in other pieces. Reactor is very much a variation on In Dark Trees from Another Green World. There are a couple that I've heard before under different names. Fuseli and From The Coast are aka Patrolling Wire Borders and Quartz from MfF. Most of the material is new here and all hails from the latter half of the 1970's.

The liner notes are pretty good, but there are other musicians on some tracks, but the credit's aren't spelled out like on MfF 1 and 2.

Sad to say, Eno doesn't quite make instrumental music like this anymore. More Music for Films is essential for the Eno fan and an excellent addition for progressive music fans in general.
