1 stars Wow, Todd Rundgren does drugs and his music actually gets even worse. But we can't hold it against him for trying. With "Toddd Rundgren's Utopia," Rundgren lends a close ear to the hip music of progressive rock and attempts to make such an album for himself. The result is a less-than-well-executed trip down all of the prog cliches with literally endless keyboard passages that don't' much or anything for that matter. There are some good ideas tucked away in the depths of "Utopia" and "The Ikon," but they drag on forever and that ruins it- not to mention all the other junk that surrounds it. Props though for have three keyboard players- that's pretty cool. If you are looking for good progressive music, or even good American progressive music, there's much better stuff out there.

Standout songs: Some parts of some songs
