His playing on this recording is superb, responsive, stylish and articulate, he's not copying Blackmore, he's actually recreating the classics in a newer, fresher, simpler accessible style, while still preserving that indescribable 'magic' that RB had/has: exactly what Steve Morse was meant to do but almost completely failed at.
