5 stars Proof positive that MkIV, and in particular Tommy Bolin. His playing on this recording is superb, responsive, stylish and articulate, he's not copying Blackmore, he's actually recreating the classics in a newer, fresher, simpler accessible style, while still preserving that indescribable 'magic' that RB had/has: exactly what Steve Morse was meant to do but almost completely failed at. Check out his great soloing on "Burn", "Lazy", "Georgia On My Mind" etc.etc. and enjoy a wonderful live album that is a time capsule of an unfairly overlooked time in Deep Purple's history.
