4 stars Bass work, bass work, bass work! I love the bass guitar! Bass guitar is fun, and funner! And if your looking for some good bass guitar to listen too, might I suggest a lot of songs from Devine Wings of Tragedy! Ugh my friends. I've been trying to learn, and this puts all my work to shame, just like Myung, Geddy, and Primus' who's name doesn't come to mind at the time (I always forget the name). Don't get me wrong, everything esle is good too.... I guess. Not really, it's a really enjoyable album, and way better than Odyssey, which I rated earlier. But I can't quite compare the music quality to Mythological suite, but why play which is better than the other. Let's look at the album as an individual album. Just Symphony X's Divine, not another of SX's new CDs! Divine, I must say, is something to listen to if you need to get pumped, and needed some heavy power metal to the max! Vocals are good, not lovable to my eye, but still quite amazing and talented, but I don't care about that, it's the music I try to get hooked on! The riffs are powerful, distorted, and very heavy. This is probably one of their heavier albums, but not so much as odyssey (which kind of goes overbard at some points). The music is enjoyable and very melodic in some places, in others it's just heavy metal with heavy riffs! Divine song, great song, Pharaoh, great song with a nifty little chorus too. All the other songs are good too, but I'm just to lazy to talk about about. The first one is great, Of Sins and Shadows, that's the song they played at the Gigantour with Dream Theater and Megadeth. Yep, it's interesting stuff. Of all, I'd have to run it as a 4/5 stars! yay for Symphony X! Heavy Metal! Listen and enjoy it's a good adition to your collection, like a lot of other cds!
