3 stars And this is how a beautiful genre is born.

This is was an important step in the development of modern progressive rock. It develops many of the post rock trademark features, while still undeveloped and in experimental stage. Why would i rate such an important historic peace of art just "good, but non-escencial"? Well, just because of that. It's a good album. But the fact that an entire genre was born out of this doesn't necessarely mean it's either a masterpeace, nor even excellent. This, in fact, sounds quite amateur. The production here is very, very standard and not very well excecuted, the vocals are not very good, and the songs tend to lack the characteristic post rock climax at the middle-end of the song. I think my position here is already clear: Important, but not excellent album.
