MERLIN - BARD OF THE UNSEEN

I purchased this a few years ago and didn't like it at all. I thought maybe I would feel differently about it now so I gave it a spin today and it was all I could do to listen to the whole record.This was painful for me, and here's why. First of all I really dislike musicals, always have, and for me this was like listening to a musical instead of watching it. The orchestral parts I don't like at all either, and the vocals although not bad, to me they are below average.

The highlight for me was in the first song "Merlin" when we hear a long guitar solo late in the song. And the second song "Tintagel" is a mellow song with acoustic guitar and reserved vocals that was ok.

Now seeing how highly rated this album is I have to conclude that it's just me. I will also say that I will never listen to this ever again. Okay that was a little harsh i'll admit but I just can't get into KAYAK.
