SPARTACUS

Ok, so a band named Triumvirat walks into a recording studio and picks up their instruments (which happen to be similar to the gear that ELP uses) and then proceed to record some fun symphonic prog rock. So what's all the fuss about? Maybe because (note that I have been an ELP fan for almost 30 years) Triumvirat has actually mastered their art while ELP still sounded like they were experimenting with their sound.

This album, Spartacus is to say the least, very,very charming indeed. I've only know about them for less than a year but I feel that I've know what they tried to do for so many years. A prog Rock act that can actually write songs and not just pieces of some snooty musical puzzle. This is a quality that Yes always possessed, they could right epics but with real songs in between.

This album contains some of the most quirky and fun keyboard melodies in prog's history and should be purchased for that fact alone. Vocals are actually more decent than alot of other similar bands, and bass and drums hold up strong.
