![]() The two opening tracks are easily the best songs of the disc, and also of the band's history. Afterglow completes the trilogy of the "Paintisings" (Landscape, Seascape and Afterglow); this one and Dolor Dulcis are tipical Blondel's song, from the vein of Fantasia Lindum. Spring Air are a fine Christmas-esque track. Cantus Firmus to Counterpoint is the low point of the album, with repetitive medieval-esque voice passages... And, as Evensong and FL, the album ends with a nice instrumental piece. No prog here, just brittish folk; as The Chieftains is just an irish folk band, Amazing Blondel is a kind of answer to the Chieftains. Maybe later, with Mulgrave Street, the band incorpores some prog touch; but on the first albums, only folky music. If you like folk music, this is a must-have in your catalog. Try it!
