This is progressive music but this is not progressive rock, because the � rock � element is missing. This is precursor eastern world-jazz, a synthesis of English western music (thanks to oboe) and eastern traditional music. However some moments the music leans towards one side of the balance, either pure jazz or pure traditional Indian music. This album is a founder record of the world music genre, featuring prestigious musicians such as Ralph Towner on acoustic guitar and Collin Walcott on sitar.
