French group from Rouen with a history dating in 2002, when they were found by guitarist/vocalist Aurelien Lecourt, keyboardist/vocalist Yves-Marie Persil, bassist Antony Deblaere and drummer David Coue.With the help of female flutist Helene Fouquet they manage to record their first album ''Entrance Is Everywhere'', a self-produced work released in 2004.With such a name it is almost impossible to deny your influences.Echoes are obviously influenced by PINK FLOYD and their repertoire delivers inspirations starting from the SYD BARRETT-era and ending up in mid-70's with flexible albums such as ''The dark side of the moon'' or ''Wish you were here''.Plenty of instrumental guitar jams, laid-back Hammond organ and British-styled smooth lead voices recall the late-60's UK Psychedelia, while discreet jazzy and Blues Rock hints are also present.The album is not particularly convincing with the vocals shining through, but musically it is a rather unoriginal and monotonous work.It balances between dated Psychedelic Rock and dynamic Heavy/Psych with few elements out of this range.''Ripper'' is propably the best track with some ''Atom hear mother'' inspirations: Orchestral keys, nice Hammond organ and very good guitar work.The rest of the album basically moves on scratcing riffs, psychedelic textures and supporting organs in a constant mood, however the more pounding tracks even explore the sound of DEEP PURPLE and the energy within is definitely welcome like on ''Horses''. Not really a bad effort.For lovers of 70's Psych/Prog with a fair dose of heavier cuts this is propably a nice listening.It just relies too much on this movement with rare personal adjustments...2.5 stars.
