5 stars This was the first record from this band that came into hands... my introduction to Steven Wilson and his fellows blew me out...

"Lightbulb Sun" is beautiful, as every PT album since "The Skies Move Sideaways"; i call call this one of my favourite bands. Some easy listening stuff goes around with epic tracks such as "Russia on Ice" and "Hatesong"; great riffs and melodies, excellent band interplay. They did not embrace the metal side on this album, its pretty poppier as "Stupid Dream" is, and i really like its appeal...

...Masterpieces...

Four Chords That Made a Million, Shesmovedon, The Rest Will Flow, Hatesong, Where We Would Be, Russia On Ice

... Excellent...

Lightbulb Sun, How Is Your Life Today?, Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth... and Feel So Low...

Overall 4.5, almost a masterpiece, but essential anyway...
