ENGLISH ELECTRIC (PART TWO)

Initial reviews suggested that this album was as good as, or even better than, part one. It isn't, really it isn't - none of the tracks are as good as those found on part one, there is so much padding and noodling, tracks that start well then quickly run out of steam, 'Keeper of Abbeys' being a classic examples. The horn section on Summoned by bells from part one seemed so inspired then,here it is repeated over and over.

English Electric part one was SOOO good, that is the problem, by far BBTs best album. From the joy of The First Rebreather to the disturbing Boy in Darkness to the folky Uncle Jack/Hedgerow, it was superb.

I suppose it's too much to ask a band to repeat that achievement in such a short time, but lets not pretend that part 2 comes within a country mile of part 1.
