TALK ABOUT TOMORROW

This a very rare single from Ekseption, and fortunately both sides of it can be found and listened to in youtube. I was very curious to listen to it, because this is a very early single from this band, recorded before the arrival of keyboard player Rick van der Linden to the band, and in musical style it is very different from the music which the band recorded and released with van der Linden when he became the main arranger and composer of the band. The musical style of both songs is more in the Soul and Rhythm and Blues styles, with a lead singer who sings more influenced by James Brown, Otis Redding, Sam and Dave and other artists like them.The musicians in Ekseption were all from the Netherlands, and listening to white musicians playing this kind of music is interesting, because they did it very well, even if the lead singer sings in the English language with a bit of a "foreign accent".Both songs are very similar in style, so there is not very much else that I can comment about them. The musicians in this line-up of the band were: Rein van der Broek (trumpet, and he was the only musician who seems to appear in every official recording done by this band), Rob Kruisman (saxophone) and Huib van Kampen (guitar, saxophone), both of them also appear on Ekseption`s first album from 1969, plus Hans Alta (bass) and Tim Griek (drums). There is a piano player in the songs plus some female backing vocalists, and I don`t know who was the male lead singer in the band, but the five members which I mentioned appear in the cover of the single with their names listed in their individual photos.
