5 stars This is amazing. And no matter if the idea of 'union' in fact came down to a) ten songs by ABWH plus four songs by Squire & Co. on the same record and b) Anderson's co-lead vocals on the aforesaid four tracks. Yes I also read Bruford's & Wakeman's invectives ('the worst recording I ever participated in', 'I could not recognize the parts I played' etc). However I think it's out of the subject. I do realize that Union is far from Yes' traditions and behavioural cliche. However I think that in this case it's inessential. You see, there are lots of albums full of energy, drive, optimism etc etc etc in the history of prog. There are also lots of albums full of light. But just a few albums are full of natural light. The music of Union really shines. It gives a physical sense of sunny daylight. And that's unique. That's why I consider this album a masterpiece and in toto refuse to anatomize it for evaluating. I prefer to listen and enjoy it from the beginning to the end.
