PLAYING THE FOOL - THE OFFICIAL LIVE

This is, along with "Roxy & Elsewhere" by Frank Zappa and "Bursting Out" by Jethro Tull one of the best live-doubles in my vinyl collection. Maybe it was meant to be a present to the fan community before GG went down to mainstream business. It's much more than "the best of" Gentle Giant because their live performances were always different from the studio recordings. For example, it's surprising and interesting to hear the medleys. After all there are only a few limitiations preventing this from being the perfect live album. The drum solo is not as good as Barrimore Barlows on "Bursting Out". Though "Playing the Fool" was released shortly after "Interview" there's only one track from that album ("I lost my head"). Maybe they could have make it a 2-CD so there would have been space for "Interview" and "Timing" from the same tour. This two songs have been released later on "Under Construction".
