Progressive Biography

Born in Mexico City that 1985 year when an earthquake shook the City and the whole country.
Iīm still living here but i will move to another city or country sooner or later; the pic at the top of this page was taken in the last January, behind me you can see the Cathedral, Zocalo and a giant flag of Mexico, thatīs the heart of this city.
Right now iīm 21 years old maybe my beard and long hair makes me look older,my hair is one of those things or parts of me that i really love and i have no day to cut it.

Well, my parents were not a huge influenced on my musical tastes, i can be grateful with my dad for introducing me "The Doors" (which is one of my favorite bands), and "Alan Parsons Project", besides that couple of bands, i am sure that they had /have nothing to do with my musical tastes, right now my mom likes Pink Floyd for instance, but i will never say that i have parents progheads.

Several years ago, letīs say 8 years ago i started to like music as a lifestyle and concept, having started with The Doors as my main point of reference, and some Mexican rock bands, at that time i was (every of my friends and relatives were) caught by mainstream music, i remember clearly when Limp Bizkit was a band which singles played every single day.

Someday i discovered Radiohead, i had heard "Creep" before but it was just another song, when i really discovered radiohead as a band, "The Bends! and "OK Computer" later i was really hooked by their music, i loved them since the first time, and as some of you may probably know, Radiohead are my favorite band, i dont listen to them as often as before, but because now i know and love soo many bands.

As i said before my very first introduction to the prog rock world was Alan Parsons project, a band that i like but hardly listen to, next to it the band that really led me to prog were Pink Floyd, honestly the first thing that i knew about them was "The Wall" another album that i like and loved since the first time, but when i really said wooooow, was when i listened to "Shine on you Crazy Diamond", that was something very different and new for me and probably what made me search for more prog music.

Then some of my friends listened to Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Dream Theater and Primus, all very popular bands but the ones who made me love prog rock deeper and deeper.
So after a while i started buying albums and looking for new info in the web, one holy day i discovered Progarchives and probably the 85% of my musical knowledge (prog rock in particular , obviously) is thanks to this great site my love for symphonic prog and RPI is also because of this site, where im an addict and learn something new every single day.
