Just because we're here doesn't mean we deserve to be. 

And yes, Robert, I am a collectivist and think that we should evolve to the point where cooperation, not competition, is how our species survives and grows.  Sadly, that also makes me an idealist, because that is certainly not where reality seems to be heading.
