I put in for the 2 disc CD and the t-shirt. |
I also ordered the deluxe edition. It wasn't cheap.... But I'm happy that I'm getting a double cd, the more music the better! All preorders will be signed by the way.

Is there anymore information on the content of the 2 disc edition? All I could find was a tracklist on Wikipedia. Will the bonus disc have demos, songs that didn't quite make the cut...? I can't wait for this release! Hopefully some tourdates will be announced soon. |
No as far as I know cd2 will be real official songs, I don't think it is referred to as a "bonus" disc. But I think I read that it's 30 minutes. There's a review page on his site. Here is one review with comments on each track..
Credits:
Steve Hackett…Electric and acoustic guitars, vocals, harmonica Gary O’Toole & Simon Phillips…drums & percussion Chris Squire…Bass Nick Beggs…bass & Chapman stick Dick Driver…double bass Roger King & Ben Fenner…Keyboards & programming John Hackett…Flute & vocals Rob Townsend…Sax, whistle & bass clarinet Amanda Lehmann…vocals & guitar Christine Townsend…Violin & Viola Richard Stuart…Cello
I've been a fan of Simon Phillips and Steve Hackett for about the same amount of time, 14 years or so, so it's a bit unreal for me to see them working together. But I don't know how the collaboration worked, if the drums were recorded in Hacketts studio, or if Phillips recorded them in his own studio. And maybe he just plays on one song, who knows. I've thought that they would be a great collaboration because they lean towards the same sound, a very big and booming sound. It's incredibly exciting.

Thanks for the info. It was really helpful!! Those descriptions make the album sound fantastic. I'm even more exited now than I was before.

Chris Squire on bass... is this the "Squakett" I've so much about for so long?

Chris Squire played one two tracks from "Out of the Tunnel's Mouth." However, Nick Beggs was the primary bassist on the album. I imagine it will be the same situation on the new album as well. Still, a full on Hackett/Squire collaboration album would be amazing.

An album exists---and Hackett - Squire have become friends--Squire went to Steve's wedding this summer---I think any release has been delayed because Squire is busy with Yes into next year.

I was wrong, the second cd is referred to as a "bonus cd" (not that it matters). Personally I don't like the word "bonus" when it comes to music, it makes it less serious, more like something thrown in as a curiosity. And who knows, maybe that's what it is, we'll see..
Press release from Inside Out
" Beyond the Shrouded Horizon is a deeply profound and mystical, yet heartfelt and spellbinding, progressive rock record which will seduce the listener and marks another step on the enthralling journey we are taking with Hackett as he makes sense of his life through music. "

Just been reading the reviews for this new album by Prog's #1 contributor, everyone seems to love it. I can't wait.
If it's better than 'Out of the Tunnels mouth' it will be something pretty special.
1 Song off the album premiers here:
...it's a bit up-tempo for my liking but when the 'Prairie Angel' themed guitar tune pops up in the middle it sends shivers down the spine!
