Album. It's simple and refers to both vinyl and CD in the same time.

As a side note, I hate it when people confuse "LP" with "vinyl". LP is not the support! LPs can be released on Cd, vinyl, mp3, etc.

I almost always use album, it simply works the best as a word. Release works well when comparing an album to others by the band or in the genre. I'd also go for record it talking about when a classic era band released an album, though since subsequent mediums didn't go obsolete then modern era bands shouldn't have their albums referred to as CDs, tapes, or MP3s.

I feel release is quite well... of course album is good and concrete... but when you need to use synonimes your'e in troubles... I like spanish more because you can say like 4 times the same thing with different words... jejeje...
Change the program inside... Stay in silence is a crime.
