Started classical piano training at age six, added accoustic guitar at ten, electric guitar at thirteen, messed about on drums a bit, and drifted to bass guitar about three years ago. Bass has become my favourite instrument.

Would have said sing, but these days I only whistle any tune that comes to my mind.
I´ve been in a male choir for about 3 years or so (doing the bass and baritone voices).
Some personal problems (not really, call ´em- circumstances) made quit.

In that case please think before creating a Poll in the Prog Lounge again... if it's not about PROG it does not belong there.
|
If this poll was moved into this section because it is not about Prog how come my poll asking if there was any prog at Woodstock was moved out of this section?

Wel, we're quite a clever bunch are we not ?
For me, started on guitars, acoustic and electric . Then got interested in bass.
I now play electric bass including my beloved early series Maton Jumbuck fretless and Double Bass which I am really getting into . For us bass players, double bass is a whole new world - give it a try if you want even more of a challenge than you have already.

Looking still the same after all these years...

Classical Guitar is my main instrument, followed by the Hammered Dulcimer and the Tin Whistle...with the bagpipe practice chanter a long way behind. I see these are not options on the poll

To anyone who thinks they are too old to learn- dont believe it. I picked up the bass first and now acoustic guitar at 48. While I'll probably never be competant enough to perform in a band, the jam nights I go to are just so much fun and enjoyable it makes it all worth it . Take up an instument at any age.Dont just listen all the time - be ceative.

I've played piano most of my life, and have been playing the drums and percussion for the past 5 years. I've also been learning how to sing this past year, so I guess that counts for something.
