Guitarist here, but I also do the keys, bass, mandolin, and vocals on my own recordings. I can keep a straight 4 or a waltz on drums, but other than that, I'm no good behind the kit. |

Far too little. I've listened to some Guru Guru in the past, but never managed to find any albums from them at a reasonable price. I definitely will continue my search after this comment though!

I play guitar and bass mainly, but I am also classically-trained on percussion. I play timpani quite well, and I used to perform with a couple of regional orchestras. I'm going between guitar, bass and drums pretty evenly. Nowadays I mostly play drums, though, because I finally got my own electronic kit.

Everyone is has their favorite instrument. The one that they would choose to gig around with over all the others. My whole family is really musical and my grandfather is a multi- instrumentalist. So through him I learned Banjo and Mandolin. I was born to drum. Its where my heart and soul is. Guitar came kinda of naturally. My family plays acoustic. So i learned acoustic, and electric on my own. Also learned 12 string through my brother in law. And once I learned Banjo, Mandolin, and guitar. I learned Bass on my own. Took piano lessons as a kid. Been drumming for 10 years almost 11 now. And i know notes for Guitar, Drums, and Piano. And i'm still continuing on my musical journey picking up instruments one at a time and will soon start recording my own cd's. like a solo artist. -------------

Guitar is my main instrument, but I'm fairly proficient on bass guitar as well. I play 6 string guitars for the time being, but I plan to start playing 7 strings exclusively eventually. |

I've been mostly playing flute and sax in the last years but have recently restarted piano (stopped for quite some time ... ). I also sing pretty well. That's the only thing I don't like about winds. I can't sing along to me playing. -------------

However, lots of drum set too (my first official instrument), bass, a wittle bit o' the boards, and soon I will start my journey with the lovely Alto Saxophone. Can't wait. |

I'm in the woodwind group and more specifically play the clarinet. And how come saxophone got an option of it's own and other woodwinds were crammed into one option? Voted for Piano though I've never played one but I'd have to pick that since I'm mostly playing organ (mostly is not often though... so I'm no Emerson at all... not even close) and I've tried a bunch of instruments and most instruments were fun trying out.
Have two guitars but can't play them, an acoustic and one Fender Telecaster... both are ugly... just like me.
I have a keyboard too... a dust collector that is.
I just wish instruments were

Thank you fellas....
that was my Bronx Ny Apartment back in 2005 And I decorated all by myself. painting those red walls was very expensive and plenty of work I chose PF dark side of the moon poster not only because is my number one band and my fav album of them, but because of Dark side of the moon I became a Prog fan back in the 80's when I was a kid. The King Crimson t.shirt I got it many years ago which is impossible to get these days and of course it is one of my fav album cover or all time and 2 favorite band...

The viola is a much under-rated instrument, which is a shame given its rich mellow sound. It would work well in prog. Now there's a question for another topic, prog tracks that include the viola. ------------- Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused? |

Well i tried to think of every instrument that came to my mind i was going to say oboe but i didn't think anybody played that. Sax just came to mind because my brother in law plays Sax. And because I've always liked sax in jazz and the improv abilities. -------------

Cool thank you! I'm hoping it will come a bit easier to me since I've played other stuff for a while now. Mostly I'll just have to get used to the fingering and of course blowing into the darn thing. But I messed around a bit on Clarinet for a week and got a decent feel for that kind of technique.

I was just thinking, wouldn't playing a sax, harmonica, or a woodwind count as air playing? Electric and acoustic guitars along with a synthesizer. ------------- Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

For me, started on guitars, acoustic and electric . Then got interested in bass. I now play electric bass including my beloved early series Maton Jumbuck fretless and Double Bass which I am really getting into . For us bass players, double bass is a whole new world - give it a try if you want even more of a challenge than you have already. ------------- Looking still the same after all these years... mrgd |

Classical Guitar is my main instrument, followed by the Hammered Dulcimer and the Tin Whistle...with the bagpipe practice chanter a long way behind. I see these are not options on the poll

To anyone who thinks they are too old to learn- dont believe it. I picked up the bass first and now acoustic guitar at 48. While I'll probably never be competant enough to perform in a band, the jam nights I go to are just so much fun and enjoyable it makes it all worth it .
