No, I think they are fine where they are.

Prog-related is a bit of a mess to be honest, but mostly harmless.
Proto is so small, (and let's face it - it's never going to get that much bigger), no one would be able to find it to remove it anyway.
No, it's okay - it slipped down the back of the sofa.

No. They are a great part of the site. It doesn't really effect the state of prog either so why worry. I mean Genesis is still going to sound good, and King Crimson will still be good. Its just a few bands that are influences or influenced by progressive rock. So why not include them? If I were new here I'd wanna know some of the bands that helped spark a genre or who was influenced by something I am newly interested in. It helps with putting things in context and in general there is that much more to learn and understand.

If you're not keen on prog related and proto prog, ignore it.

They should be kept. Finding new (to you) music is a great thing. I thank this website for the discovery of countless bands, Prog AND non-Prog.

They should definitely be kept here. There are a few treasures there, and it shows just how big the prog family is, where it comes from, and where it goes. Removing these categories would be blasphemy in my opinion.

I think we should be adding not taking away. If there is any doubt about whether a band should be in, then they should be in. There are still many bands that should be included that aren't. That should be the focus, rather than the prog police weeding out bands.

Prog Police, I like that - their sirens are in 13/16 time and last 15 minutes.

This poll has been done quite a few times, but I will let this one open for now.
Just remember guys, the OWNERS of this site want the Proto and PR categories here,so they are here to stay, regardless of public opinion.

It depends. I think some groups shouldn't appear in a prog site, like Led Zeppelin (my heroes, but still Hard Rock and NOT prog) or others like that...

if you discount the theory that Zeppelin was not included only on the basis of web hits and bringing the acne scarred youth in to the site so we could trap them with killer RPI albums and idiots dancing around on stage dressed as flowers... I think the intent of their inclusion was to show the way that prog.. influenced other bands that were not... nor never tried to be prog bands.
